Anil Kirtane

Creative Director

How does the world call me?

With my gray unkempt hair and middle-class sense of dressing, people call me Mr. Kirtane. After getting to know me a little better, my boring gyan makes them call me guruji. And people who know me well simply call me Anil.

What do I do?

For a living I play the role of Creative/Art Director and frankly I don’t know anything else that can give me a comfortable income. Besides, I believe that everything you do, you can do better with a little bit of design and style.

What projects have I worked on?

I have worked on almost every kind of account from local shops to MNC brands to a National Party’s Election campaign. In English, Hindi and Marathi.

What do I teach?

I believe that one can only give what one has. So I am working hard to find out what I have.

Who are my favourite authors?

Of late (for about 15-20 years or so) I have been attracted to no-nonsense philosophy. I enjoy reading / watching Chogyam Trugpa, Shinzen Young, Pema Chodron, Thich Nhat Hanh and S. N. Goenka.

What do I do with my free time?

I like to give myself time and space. So when I’m not watching TEDtalks, I’m watching some soap on TV, or surfing the Internet for new things in graphics and design or listening to Sanskrit stotras.

How to contact me?

Unknown numbers I do not take. Send me email with your name and an interesting subject line, and I will respond:
